Havana Tour
From Matt's perspective....was a killer. I was really hungover, but it was a really interesting tour. We spent a part of the day touring around the older part of the town, and we visited an old church. The history that we learned about the town was really awesome. The first half of the day we spent touring a cigar factory and rum factory. It looked like a pretty monotonous job, but somebody has to provide us with some rum to drink. One specific room in the rum factory really got to me and Kyle. It smelled so strongly of rum I was ready to puke. But I powered through it, and kept on trucking. After the tour through the old part of Havana, we visited a local market for souvenirs. One old lady really took a shine to Randy. She spent atleast 15 minutes asking Randy for anything he had. I sat there laughing to myself as it happened. Randy eventually gave her his sugar pills, and in return gave him some deepfried cornbread. Randy was really sick the next day, probably from the contaminated bread he shouldn't have ate. For this day I was Randy's son because last night at the Seafood dinner I wanted a beer with my meal, and the waitress said to me "no, you baby" so Randy being the nice guy he is, probably a little drunk, told the waitress I was his son and then I was good to go. My dad and Joanne decided to be too cool for Havana and didn't go but instead decided to have a day to themselves, and Ryan and Christie were too sick to go.

Cerveza's????
The night Randy got really drunk he was bugging Matthew for quitting drinking because he wasnt feeling too good and he looked at Matt and said, " Matt you better keep drinking or you'll be teeing off at the ladies tee box tomorrow" and Matthew looks at Randy and says," I dont think you'll even be teeing off." And Matthew was right. Randy spent that night with his head in the toilet and the next day in bed. Matt won! Yesterday we went on the Jeep Safari. We started in Varadero and went through the country and some little towns, then we hopped in speed boats (or what they call speed boats, they were kind of slow) and went down the river. Mike saw a stringray come right out of the water, it was pretty neat. Before the boats, Uncle Randy, Kyle, Kristi, and Melissa danced with topless native woman. They even got blessed with brown paint on their faces. Randy thought that was pretty awesome. Before leaving our jeeps we stopped at some caves and went swimming, water was pretty cold but it was fun. After that we finished our jeep tour and came back to the hotel for supper. Today we just hung out by the pool and beach, but it was pretty windy and hot. Just a quick tip for those future travellers......SPF 15 DOES NOT WORK!!! Melissa is burnt to a crisp, and so is everyone else. Everyone played some volleyball and Lynn was bragging she beat her son, Kyle at it. Tonight we went to the Seafood al la carte and Matthew and Kyle went a little overboard on the shooters. Their was a table of about 40 shooters and there were 10 left when we left. Lynn was embarrassed of Kyle for the first time. Tomorrow we are all going to Havana except for Joanne and Mike. We have our own private bus for the 8 of us. It should be a good trip. By the way....does anyone know if the flames won last night??? Mike wore his flames shirt today and it was quite the conversation piece as everyone was asking him if they won. Leave us some feedback. Time for more cerveza's!

Day 2
Well yesterday was an eventful day. Uncle Randy is so ill he cant even get out of bed. I guess he had enough fun yesterday to last him for today too. We spent most of yesterday just hanging out down by the beach and by one of the pools. We all got sunburned except Kyle. Last night we were all so tired from not sleeping the night before that we all went to bed at 8:30. I guess the night show will have to wait until tonight. Today we are going in to Veradero on the double decker bus to do some lookind around. I think Uncle Randy will just spend the day in bed. Tomorrow is our Jeep tour. We get to ride jeeps around and then take speed boats down the river. Should be a good day. The weather is very hot and humid. It has been over 30 since we got here and hopefully it stays this nice. We got a little bit of rain yesterday but it was still so hot that it didnt really matter. The beach is very nice. The sand is a little bit rough though because it has lots of shells in it. It must be nice since Mike, Uncle Randy and Matthew were down drinking on it yesterday at 7am. Matthew got over his hang over. He slept for 4 hours yesterday afternoon but he said he is just going to take it slow now. He might start drinking at 4 today instead of first thing in the morning. Anyways the weather is beautiful and we are heading into town!

We made it....
We made it to Cuba finally. Our plane left at 11 last night and we had to sleep on the plane. That did not go very well. Everyone is very tired today, but Uncle Randy, Mike, and Matt had a good time at 7am down at the beach drinking. Matt had about two dozen beer and he had never drank before, tomorrow will not be good for him as he is already in his room passed out. It is only noon too!!!! So far it has been very hot, about 33 but windy. Tomorrow we are going to go into Varadero and then Wednesday we are going to go on the Jeep tour. Hopefully Matt can get out of bed tomorrow morning. Uncle Randy has been drinking for so long and has had so much that he thinks its supper, when in reality its 1 in the afternoon. The day is only half gone! The food is alright so far, and no one is complaining....that much yet! The travel agent messed up with our hotel dates though and we dont have a room for the last night we are here, and the receptionists told us that we were a day late. Hopefully we arent all sleeping on the beach on the night of April 26. We thought the plane was bad, i cant imagine waking up with sand in my hair and clothes. Anyways the pool and bar is calling my name so we will update later!!!

Airport waiting....
So we are all sitting at the airport in edmonton. Mom is acting like a little kid on christmas. And mike is already drinking his face off. Cuba is calling our name! We all passed security surprisingly. Auntie lynn has no idea what to expect so she is pretty quiet. In less than twelve hours we will be drinking on the beach. Yeah thats right......BE JEALOUS!!!
